S. Lombardi & Associates (SLA) opened its doors in 1973 and is the longest established full-service Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations agency on the Central Coast.

Steve combines his energy and inherent love for the marketing industry with a commitment to quality and accountability.He has a degree in journalism, but jokes that his diploma from McDonald's Hamburger U's Marketing Division has probably served the agency better. Before joining Gary Suggs in the advertising agency business, Steve worked for the Hanford Sentinel, KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo and KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara. In the early 80's Suggs & Lombardi started Senior Magazine, a publication targeting the growing senior population on the Central Coast. Steve has always felt that the collective ego is more important than the individual ego, thus the line: "When everybody's thinking like me, nobody's thinking very much."
Maggie von Stein
Sales ManagerBorn and raised in Florida, Maggie earned a BS in Aerospace from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University before joining the sales team for NASCAR. Her passion for fast cars is only rivaled by her drive to solve clients needs and exceed expectations. After moving to California in 2007, she continued her sales and marketing career as an Account Executive for local CBS affiliate KCOY-TV. Following the trends in technology, she transitioned to digital marketing with Rosetta where she managed projects for clients such as Apple and Samsung. During her years in TV she serviced many of SLA’s clients, planting the seed for her to one day join our family at SLA.
Maggie is a proud graduate of the Leadership SLO Class XXVII and also the founder of Savvy Leadership Academy which provides today’s youth with the tools they need for future success. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family hiking the beautiful Central Coast with their German Shepherd. Along with being an avid skier and scuba diver, she loves to swing dance and has been known to throw down some Lindy kicks and triple steps whenever she hears a jazzy number.
Clay joined the SLA team after nearly a decade as Field Media Manager for Anheuser-Busch where he planned, negotiated and executed media budgets for the company’s various beverages. This also meant he would have to “test” those various beverages in order to become better acquainted with them. (Although he refused to offer specifics)
With experience as a Media Buyer, Account and Media Coordinator, as well as having developed media plans for major motion pictures including Napoleon Dynamite, Sideways and the Oscar winning Crash, Clay’s background is sure to provide a long list of benefits to our clients. A graduate of UCSB with a degree in Communication, Clay is a family man having recently celebrated the arrival of a second son.

A Cal State Northridge graduate who has been with the agency for 29 years, Roz has worked on so many different projects from annual reports and newsletters to newspaper inserts and marketing presentations, few have her experience or attention to details. She also practices Transcendental Meditation and is currently levitating over her desk.
Michael wanted to pitch for the New York Mets. Unfortunately, they never wanted him. Instead, he became a radio personality, a talk show host, newsman, a TV writer and producer, college instructor and finally, for the last 24 years, SLA's Creative Director. Michael has more than 40 years of experience in the broadcast/media industry and provides the voice for several of our clients. He also keeps hoping to get that call from the Mets.
Although she grew up in the San Fernando Valley, Denise is originally from Puerto Rico, the northeastern Caribbean island known for its tropical climate, diverse scenery, flavorful cuisine and Ricky Martin. Denise earned a degree in Computer Science and Accounting and has served as a bookkeeper and office manager for several local businesses over the last thirty years. She is also on staff at her church in Arroyo Grande where she is a Youth Minister for middle school-aged youngsters. Married since the early 1980’s, Denise and her husband Ken have two sons – one of whom serves in the military. Denise is also an avid “sewist” and spends her free time with needle and thread at the ready, even here at the office where the occasional parted seam or dangling hem receives her immediate attention.
Maren has designed everything from bike jerseys to websites for companies large and small. She prides herself on constant improvement and an endless desire to learn. With a lifelong passion for art, as well as a Psychology degree from UC Santa Barbara, she brings a unique skillset to SLA.
On a personal level, Maren is a crafting mom, a sports enthusiast and a lover of the great outdoors. In her increasingly rare “spare time,” she can often be found at the beach, on the volleyball court.
